Birds and other wildlife have interested Roger since early childhood.  After leaving school he did a Zoology and Botany degree, which led to his first job with the British Trust for Ornithology in the mid 1960's.  He started bird photography in the early 1970's with an Olympus OM1, but by 1978 has turned more to medium format work, and in the 1980's was photographing mainly birds at the nest.  His RPS fellowship was gained with pictures of birds in song.  Today, he uses Canon EOS equipment and has recently changed to the EOS D60 digital camera.
