I have been a wildlife watcher since I was old enough to catch newts with a worm tied to a piece of cotton.  For many years, leading a busy life, wildlife photography was only possible on holiday.  In those precious days I often wondered what it is that leads supposedly sane adults to sit in cramped hides, often cold or with sweat trickling down their backs, waiting for an animal that only turns up when the light has gone.  However, there is nothing to match the experience of seeing wild animals and birds at close quarters; the photographs are a bonus.
