Photography is a wonderful vehicle for promoting awareness and appreciation of the Natural World around us.  Be it some far off exotic place or nearer to home on our doorstep.

For 30 years I have enjoyed photography in some fantastic parts of the world and found it both exhilarating and rewarding.  Countries which I have visited for photography include India, Kenya, Costa Rica, Florida, Scandinavia and Arctic Canada.  Recently, an exciting trip to photograph Bald Eagles in Alaska was very successful and rewarding.

Of course, being in the right place at the right time is always crucial but perhaps of paramount importance is the quality of the light in its different forms of intensity, creating the most wonderful opportunities to make pictures.

Nikon equipment and the finest of films produce extremely sharp images, rich with renditions of colour and subtle tones that exist in nature.

Exhibiting in International Competitions and being awarded commendations and medals for contributions to Natural History Photography is commendable.  However, securing the picture is most satisfactory of all.
