My involvement in wildlife photography began as a natural progression from a keen interest in natural history during my school days.  Earlier work was simply developing films and producing monochrome prints on a home-made enlarger, the studies being mainly of birds nests plus easily approachable sea birds.  I progressed to using conventional hides and semi-professional medium format gear to photograph mainly birds both  in mono and colour.  I now use 35mm film and digital camera gear with long focus lenses away from the nest.  As a specialist wildlife photographic tour leader I travel to many destinations world-wide which provide opportunities to seek out photographic subjects.  The Falkland Islands, Botswana, Scandinavia and the wilder parts of Scotland being my favourite locations.
