Eric was born and brought up in Perth where, after a spell in Edinburgh, he has lived for the past 25 years. He has a wide ranging interest in Natural History having started with a fascination for insects, in particular Dragonflies and Butterflies. He has been a life member of the British Dragonfly Society for 15 years. Birds now feature strongly and more recently moth trapping. He now carries out photography full time.

About five years ago Eric switched from Nikon to Canon after dissatisfaction with Nikon's service and repair department and now embraces the digital age and the benefits thereof.

As well as being known for his lectures and local nature photography he has travelled widely in pursuit of his career. Until the end of March 2008 you can see some of Eric's work at the Montrose SWT Wildlife Centre in his exhibition.
 
I think I enjoy most observing wildlife fairly up-close-and-personal hoping to capture some of the beauty of the creature or behaviour.
